Project Manager and Programme Manager

Welcome to the web site of Steve Knibbs. I am a senior project manager, currently working in Bristol, managing the delivery of naval platform management systems.

Background

I am a Chartered Engineer and Member of the Association for Project Management (MAPM) with over 30 years experience in a variety of industries.

My early career was as a software and systems engineer, bidding and delivering control systems to the rail, electrical, water, oil and gas industries. I managed a team of software engineers as well as external subcontractors. I then moved to the defence industry, spending 12 years in a variety of management positions. For the next 4 years I returned to the oil and gas industry, working in senior management roles in both project delivery and product development of subsea oil and gas systems. Finally I came back to the defence industry, working on delivery of naval platform management systems.

My career has covered the whole of the project life-cycle, from sales/bids through to customer acceptance and support, as both prime contractor and subcontractor. I have also managed at a strategic level, growing an area of business and improving working culture and compliance.

I am a keen amateur photographer and have gained the LRPS (Licentiate) distinction from the Royal Photographic Society.
